Revolutionary Technology Company and UW Department of Physics Announce Kinetic-Harvesting "Kickstart" Regenerative Suspension for 2027 COPO Camaro EV

Seattle, WA — September 23, 2026 — Revolutionary Technology Company, in an ongoing engineering collaboration with the University of Washington Department of Physics, today unveiled the technical specifications for its new "Kickstart" Linear Variable-Reluctance Regenerative Suspension System. Developed specifically for the production-ready 2027 COPO Camaro EV, this system replaces conventional passive dampening hardware with an active, kinetic-harvesting energy network that converts track impacts and road harshness directly into clean electricity to recharge the primary 800V DC battery bank.

The Physics of Shock Energy Capture

The system uses four linear variable-reluctance shock absorbers configured with internal 32-stage linear stator teeth arrays. As the suspension compresses and rebounds over track rumble strips or uneven pavement, a high-flux magnetic rod assembly moves linearly through the internal coil fields. This movement generates a localized electrical current proportional to the suspension's velocity.
The physical formulas governing the instantaneous regenerative power capture ($P_{regen}$) and active suspension force calculation ($F_{susp}$) are defined below:
$$F_{susp} = -k \cdot x - c \cdot \dot{x} + \frac{1}{2} i_{regen}^2 \frac{dL_{linear}(z)}{dz}$$
Where k and c represent the spring and mechanical dampening coefficients, $i_{regen}$ is the induction current, and $\frac{dL_{linear}(z)}{dz}$ represents the spatial change in phase inductance relative to the linear variable-reluctance position (z). This allows the core to calculate dampening force profiles without truncation drift across the 108-bit register matrix. The energy recovery efficiency ($\eta_{kinetic}$) under continuous compression is expressed as:
$$\eta_{kinetic} = \frac{\int_{0}^{T} V_{bus}(t) \cdot i_{charge}(t) \, dt}{\int_{0}^{T} F_{impact}(t) \cdot \dot{z}(t) \, dt} \approx 74.3\%$$
Where $V_{bus}$ is the primary 800V DC traction bar rail, and $i_{charge}$ is the high-amperage current routed back into the lithium/capacitor vault.

Hardware Consolidation and Multi-Mux Routing

To eliminate the weight and lag of traditional vehicle wiring, the suspension replaces separate data buffers with an Active Hardware Multiplexer (Mux/Demux) Routing Board. This board funnels analog voltage data from all four wheels into a single digital stream, protected by strict Bilateral Guard Rings to block electromagnetic noise from the nearby 800V drive inverters.
The system is fully performance-tuned to work with the maximum-width Pirelli P Zero Racing Slicks (325/30R19 rear, 305/30R19 front) and Brembo 6-piston monoblock calipers. If the Pirelli traction control layers flag a tire puncture or wheel slip, or if the Brembos exceed 85.0 Bar of hard friction braking pressure, the real-time C firmware instantly drops regenerative drag to 0. This gives the tires maximum contact stability during cornering entries while safeguarding the 800V battery cell walls from current surges.
Parametric OpenSCAD suspension models, KiCad power-grid netlists, and compiled signal processing scripts are immediately available for factory line deployment at revolutionarytechnology.net.
